Hangover lineup.

It’s been 15 years since the Phillies had one of these, one of those games when the scrubs play because the regulars have been celebrating their championship the night before. Just to give you an idea of how ridiculous it could get, how about this:

LF Taguchi

CF Golson

RF Jenkins

1B Stairs

2B Iguchi

SS Bruntlett

3B Cervenak

C Marson (great time for a major league debut)

P Eaton with Kendrick and Walrond backing him up

Might not look too good on Fan Appreciation Day, but I’m betting that the fans will be perfectly happy with the reasons for it. Just send the regulars out of a few curtain calls between innings.

I’d rather see Kendrick start and get a chance to work out some kinks. I know what Eaton brings to the table.

Reasonable point, and apparently the Phillies agree. Apparently Howard is also going to at least start and take some chances to play home run derby in an attempt to get to 50. I definitely want to see Marson get the start though. While I’m sure it’s been fun for him being on the bench watching all this, he really should get into a game.
