It’s there for the taking.

The Phillies have 7 games left. 6 of those are at home against two of the four worst teams in the National League. The two pitchers scheduled to pitch more than once are their two most reliable starters. With all that, if they only manage to win 3 out of those 7, the only way they don’t make the playoffs is if the Brewers run the table or if the Brewers go 6-1 and then beat the Phils in a one game playoff at CBP. The way it’s going, winning just 2 out of the 7 would likely be enough.

In other words, if they aren’t playing in October it’s because they chose the worst possible time to have one of their coldest stretches of the year.

…which is why they call them Phillies, right?
