Probably just as well.
I think I’m glad Utley got that second hit in the 9th inning. The ESPN guys were talking about the first hit being an error, but that thought that occurred to me was that it could be scored a fielder’s choice because of the look to third. Sure enough a report that popped up later said that was the original call. That being said, even if you want to argue that’s technically correct, realistically if it wasn’t a case of a hitting streak being on the line, it would be called a hit and no one would blink. But that second hit, as weak as it was, probably makes the whole point moot.
