Wednesday, August 31st, 2005As I was saying earlier today, last night’s game was only one game and we should read too much into it and… I can’t keep a straight face anymore. Although I did at least say I was probably making too much out of it.
Talk about a 180 degree turnaround. Last night they jumped out early and then went completely flat. Tonight they had a little trouble early but kept plugging away before finally taking advantage of opportunities late in the game. Throw in some excellent defense, especially by Lofton, and good pitching and you’ve got a heck of a game. The team that was out there tonight looked like a playoff team.
Now if they can just keep that team out there and not the one that was out there last night, maybe they’ll keep it interesting all the way down the stretch.
